This role will be responsible for ensuring that the Operational Technology (OT) architecture within Canadian Operations supports the Operational and Security demands.

    The Operational Technology Engineer will develop and secure a reliable OT environment for manufacturing based on best praxis in the group.

    Contribute to develop the environment and contribute to the global community dedicated to this topic. Committed to achieving excellence in quality, health and safety, the environment and product safety.

    OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Hiram Walker & Son's Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.


    Manage OT network support:
    OT network design, asset monitoring, security
    Remote access
    Wireless communications for IT and OT
    Moves, Adds, Changes on switch configurations
    Report network security status
    Watch for OT application and control devices security patch release
    Perform patching testing in specific OT setup
    Manage, monitor and maintain the Virtual Machines stack
    Design Virtual Machine templates
    Tools + Configuration backup system
    Compliance OT local site equipment to policy and procedures
    Provision of Virtual Machines
    ~ Local workstations on OT network as well as Thin client
    ~3rd parties dedicated application/network solutions within existing OT environment
    ~ PLC, other industrial controllers, Human Machine Interfaces
    ~ Industrial Internet of Things
    ~ Ensure up to date documentation related to OT network
    ~ Ensure security in Projects

    Group Policy management
    AD Organizational Unit structure management
    Cyber Crisis declaration and communication with site, IT and business
    Non-Cyber Crisis declaration and communication with site, IT and business
    Test backups and recovery procedures (all OT equipment)
    Manage, analyze and correlate logs at the site level

    Contribute to sites development of Industrial Automation platform and OT related initiatives (e.g.

    Participate or individually drive Industrial automation/instrumentation projects or provide topic specific input to projects with Industrial Automation aspects in it.

    Ensure sites Industrial Automation platform is and stays agile, fit for purpose to serve the affiliates ambitions.
    PLC/HMI development and troubleshooting understands industrial communications, -safety, -manufacturing and -project management.

    Specify, design, purchase and supervise the installation and commissioning of instrumentation and industrial automation projects as it relates to the OT network and systems.

    Experience with platforms such as CISCO, Microsoft Server, VMWare, Rockwell as well as one or several Industrial automation platforms (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar)
    Experience with Rockwell Software Solution – Factory Talk Directory, View Site and Machine Edition, Asset Center, etc
    Database administration for Microsoft SQL (Backup/Restore, user/security management, database creation etc). Basic knowledge of Oracle Databases and connectivity. Knowledge of Microsoft Reporting Services an asset. ·
    Basic administration of Linux based OS.
    5+ years of experience developing and maintaining industrial automation systems · Proven experience with cybersecurity strategy items

    Works well independently to drive solutions, identify needs and projects, create work and testing plans perform troubleshooting of issues, etc.

    Works well in larger groups to co-ordinate the needs of the business and is creative in finding solutions in a 24x7x365 operation that minimizes downtime yet provides a robust and secure environment.

    Good written and verbal communication skills with non-technical people to clearly inform them of changes, impacts and new ways of working.

    Required - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Industrial Automation or IT/OT Engineering
