    Title - Instructional Designer Instructional Designer( Trainer / Content Writer)

    Period: 12 months (with an option to extend)

    Location: Barrington Tower, Scotia Square, Halifax

    Working Hrs.: 7. Hrs. / day

    Note: Candidate is required to work onsite 2 days per week or as needed by the client.

    Project Background: In December 2022, the Corporate Scheduling and Time Reporting Project was launched to plan, design, build and implement a suite of business tools using UKG'sTelestaff and WFMProapplications. The project is focused on implementing these applications as an integrated "Software as a Service" (SaaS) solution. The Telestaff and WFMPro applications will be hosted by UKG and will be interfaced to several municipal applications including, but not limited to SAP ECC Payroll and SuccessFactors.The new suite of business tools will also enable staff to securely access applications remotely.

    Detailed Scope of Work: The goal of this RFP is to secure experienced resources comprised of a Senior Business Analyst, Test Lead/Analyst, and an Instructional Designer to work on and contribute to the delivery of the Corporate Scheduling and Time Reporting project, on behalf of HRM.

    Qualifications and Experience Considerations:


    • Demonstrated experience as an instructional designer on a complex large scale project.


    • Previous experience with scheduling and time reporting systems considered an asset.


    • Previous experience working with Public Sector. Past project experience with Canadian

    municipality considered an asset

    Key responsibilities include:


    • Supporting the development and management of the Training Project Plan.


    • Providing input on curriculum design and development.


    • Assisting with requirements gathering for training environments, users, and data.


    • Supporting training delivery.


    • Supporting trainer readiness – provide trainers with all materials required for training

    preparation and delivery.


    • Develop training materials, including but not limited to e-Learning modules, system

    simulations, instructor guides, exercise guides, quick reference guides, etc.


    • Reviewing business process design deliverables for training requirements and inputs.


    • Working with subject matter experts to develop demo and exercise scenarios.


    • Completing course and exercise development within specified timelines.


    • Maintaining the instructional integrity of training documentation through adherence to

    development standards.


    • Identifying and supporting the creation of training data requirements.


    • Reporting course development status to the Business Change Manage


    • Communicating training related risks and issues to the Business Change Manager.


    • Updating/editing all existing training materials, as required.
