Description

We are looking for a Production Supervisor for 80 Progress (Preprint). The production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a high performing team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and line- efficiencies within Pre-print. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction for productivity and quality standards of all products produced.

What you'll be doing:

Oversee the effective running of machine centers to standards;

Provide direction and support to lead initiatives in areas within the production operation where costs can be reduced and growth can be maximized;

Develop, meet and exceed annual plant line targets in regards to efficiency, quality and shrinkage;

Facilitate meetings with crews to ensure current production, quality, Health and Safety, training are considered and resolved;

Provide feedback to employees on performance and communicate areas for improvement;

Conduct annual performance management reviews for direct reports;

Ensure that the performance management program is conducted and utilized to increase the capabilities of crews and is in line with the overall goals of the division;

Prepare weekly plant working schedule;

Complete weekly time sheets;

All other duties as assigned.

SAFETY:

Provide direction to ensure specific safety rules, housekeeping, proactive accident prevention and conscious "safety" behaviours are adhered to and enforced if necessary;

Complete all mandatory safety training;

Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ) when required;

Ensure that PPE is always in good shape;

Ensure direct reports operate equipment in a safe manner;

Report all incidents and/or accidents to the Director of Operations immediately;

What you'll bring to the table:

Post-secondary education;

Previous Supervisory experience working in a manufacturing environment;

Working knowledge of OHSA;

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);

Knowledge of Flexographic Printing an asset;

Familiar with lean practices an asset;

Detail oriented;

Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast paced environment;
