- Must have current General Class (Practicing) Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must have current BLS Certification
- Minimum one year of recent and relevant Operating Room clinical experience required.
- Post Diploma RN Perioperative Nursing Certificate required. Candidates without this qualification may be considered if candidates have equivalent education and experience.
- Recent experience in Ophthalmology preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate theoretical/practical knowledge of the ORNAC Standards and/or AORN Standards
- Demonstrated good communication skills/command of English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Must be willing or have demonstrated continuous perioperative clinical development/competency
- CNA certification in Perioperative Nursing is an asset
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, preferred
- Evidence of good work ethics and an excellent attendance record
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and successful application of adult learning principles an asset

Operating Room Registered Nurse -Ophthalmology Eye Centre RN
The RN works within a changing environment and in inter-professional teams to advocate for and promote wellness while ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and ethical nursing care. The RN shares his/her knowledge and expertise with others and contributes to the advancement of nursing practice excellence. The RN continually enhances his/her practice and competencies through ongoing learning, education, experience and reflective practice.
