American gun makers make the majority of
their money selling guns to governments.
The rest of their money comes from selling guns
via retailers, to consumers. You know, weekend
warriors and other macho creeps who like to
be seen slinging an AR 5 because it compen-
sates for other things. They even sell their guns
to psychotic teenage loners who hate the world
and everybody in it. They don’t care who buys
their guns and never really did.
A big chunk of the money they make from
those sales goes, directly and via the NRA, into
the pockets of Republican senators and state
governors who are the gun makers’ best friends,
because they're the ones who keep sensible gun
laws from being enacted.
Taking lobby money out of politics would
change all that dramatically and force politicians
to actually start caring about the people they
serve, as opposed to the gun makers they profit
from.
| have no delusions that this will actually come
about. But | do have a dead certainty that many
more children and adults will die because of this
corporate greed, political corruption and gun
addiction in America.
