MY BLURB | don't usually gravitate towards the styl-
1zed ultraviolent type movies But because | have a
great deal of time for a director like Martin Camp-
bell, who has directed many great action adventure
films, I thought what the hell
This is a bit if a departure for him, in that it's a
movie about the kind of non-specific types of villains
who get targeted by hard working assassins with
heavy duty skills across a wide spectrum of the
vorlent arts
Init, Maggie Q 1s a Vietnamese girl who 1s saved as
a kid by Sam Jackson, who 1s a big time assassin
She grows up under his wing to be just as deadly as
sam Then one day the whole deal just blows up In
their faces and they have to find the guy who did it
The rest of the film 1s pretty much just a lot of highly
stylized killing, torture, and other assorted mayhem
Everybody's good in this Michael Keaton plays the
bad guy's chief of security and is pretty good at
being menacing in a sophiosticated way
But this movie really belongs to Martin Campbell
who just makes it a hell of a ride, if you like that sort
of thing
