THE PROTEGE 2 SPUDS on Prime. WIKI BLURB: The Protégé is a 2021 American action thriller film directed by Martin Campbell, written by Richard Wenk, and starring Maggie Q, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson. MY TWO CENTS: This movie is very much like The Grey Man (Netflix) with lots of unreal action, lots of guns that seem to fire an endless number of bullets and actually hit very little. Super rich, evil villains, and the surrogate rookie/veteran relation- ship that straddles the line between business and personal. One thing | did notice about this movie is that after | saw it on Prime as part of my subscription. | looked it up today and it was for sale. It was very interesting to see Michael Keaton in a tough bad guy role. But the real star of this movie 1s Maggie Q, who is drop dead gorgeous and not afraid to do some of her own stunts. This is a violent, uttlerly absurd action picture. But then again, aren't they kind of all that way? I'm a big fan of the director Martin Campbell who has done a couple of Bond movies and a couple of Zorro movies too, all of which are very watchable if you're in the mood for violent action pics.
