The Couch Potato Chronicles

RIP THE BLACKLIST
( 3 SPUDS on Netflix)

-

The Blacklist, in my humble opinion, is
one of the very best thriller series ever
made for network TV. Fo

It was created by Jon Bokenkamp
and developed by John Eisendrath and
ran for ten seasons in which it was one
of the top rated TV series.

The main character, Raymond
Reddington, played by James Spader,
was one of the most intriguing TV
characters of all time for me.

For the relatively few of those who
don't know about The Blacklist, it's the story of a very high level
international crook, who surrenders himself to the FBI, and in
exchange for his freedom, agrees to provide them with
information on various types of criminal activity that only a
high level crook like himself would know.

The series, which is amazingly inventive in terms of the
criminal elements provided to the small FBI task force that is
assigned to Reddington, centres on a different organization in
each episode, and sometimes two or three.

James Spader absolutely owns the character of Raymond
Reddington, who is a man of many different dimensions. He at
once, kind, generous, ruthless, belevolent, honest, shady,
arrogant and humble, and Mr Spader dimensionalizes him
perfectly.

There are 10 full seasons of this series on Netflix, and the
episodes are seamessly woven into one gigantic story, probably
better than any other series in recent memory.

The creators of this series are very big brain Hollywood people
and have created something that’s head and shoulders above
95% of the formula crap on network TV these these days.
