3 SPUDS (Seasons 1-8 on Netflix) I have been catching up with this series, which ap- pears to have genuine legs It's now in its 9th season, and | am halfway through season 8 in my catchup game I consider the Blacklist to be one of the great net- work sernes of the last 20 years or so And there are a lot of good reasons for that But first and foremost 1s that | do not consider this 10 be anything other than an outrageously plotted whodunit series | suspended my disbelief the min- ute the James Spade character, who he made iconic by the way, walked into the FBI offices and basically ETL) After that, you just kind of sit back and marvel at the cleverness of the writing, especially Mr Spader’s character, Raymond Reddington, the amazing collection of great character actors who populate his nefarious network, and the uber complex plot- ting, which | can tell you from personal experience 1s a feat of true screenwriting engineering Mr Spader’s portrayal does something that very few actors can do, which is to make someone who 1s notoriously evil actually likeable Every once in a while someone will pull that off Walton Goggins did 1t to a lesser degree in the great series, Justified After that the arr gets pretty thin Anyway, 1 just wanted to give a shout out for The Blacklist The kind of pure entertainment that actually 15 a good distraction from a lot of the weird shit that's going on in the world today COUCH POTATO [PL a] [ACT] NO SPUD 4U .. SUCKS, 1 SPUD .. NOTHING SPECIAL 2 SPUDS .. WORTH WATCHING 3 SPUDS .. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
