THE CURRENT TOOLS OF MY WALKING TRADE
THE CURRENT TOOLS OF MY WALKING TRADE
When I was getting up this morning my eye was caught by the way my walker and cane looked in the morning light. These are my companions, and have been for the past year and a few months. Thanks, in part to them and a lot of stubbornness, the quality of my walking has improved dramatically. And my stamina is slowing coming around too. After I had my fall last year and tore a tendon in my shoulder, I was afraid of the walker for quite a while. But we're good friends again, and I use it whenever I can. In fact, my chair now spends its nights night in my office. I only use it for trips, my exercises and working at my desk. The whole Idea is to become completely independent of the chair and just rely on the walker and cane for almost everything else. It will happen, because my will is strong. I have gotten back just about everything I lost here and I won't quite till I have it all. Even if I don't make it there, it sure as hell won't be for lack of trying.
