The West Wing Redux

The West Wing Redux

LOST IN AMERICANA
I just gave my wife all seven seasons of The West Wing, Aaron Sorkin's idealized version of the US presidency. Wouldn't it be great if the US could have had a president like Aaron's Josiah Bartlet. Yeah those were the good old days when we could dream big and know that decspite all the hassles, everything we being handled by Martin Sheen. I think in a way, Mr Sorkin did the country a disservice by creating The West Wing. As able and gifted as he is, I don't think even he could have foreseen the madness that was to befall the country when half the people lost their minds and elected, yet another media personality to run the show and turn everything on its ear. I enjoyed watching The West Wing and now that we own it, I'm sure I will see it all again, because my wife is one of those people who has watched Downton Abbey from top to bottom three or four times. I have no doubt The West Wing will make it there easily.

The Discontinuity of Donald Trump

America Has Become Its Own Worst Enemy. And The American News Media Is The Reason Why.

The “new” age of fear and why I am not afraid!

These days, if you watch TV, listen to the radio, get your news from the Web or listen to the current crop of “law and order” politicians, you would think that western "civilization" (whatever that means) is coming to an end very soon. Heck, terrorists are everywhere (don’t I see ...
