    As the Systems Administrator 1, you will support the Network Management team in the network environment. You will ensure that the infrastructure is installed, provisioned, managed, secured and maintained in accordance with Corporate Architecture Standards and Procedures. Primary duties include:

  • Monitor the team's support queue, providing assistance to the Enterprise Service Desk, team members and other support teams.
  • Assist in incident and problem management.
  • Provide support for configuration, change, document, operational and asset management.
    • Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Computer Science or a related field and at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
  • Experience within a complex internet working environment similar to The City of Calgary is required.
  • Must have experience working with one or more of the following:The Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall platform.Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Omniswitch switching platform.The Aruba Networks Wi-Fi platform.The Nokia IP MPLS routing platform.
  • Experience with BMC Remedy (or a similar IT Service Management Suite), Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor and NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, and Fixed Wireless and Wide Area Network technologies will be considered assets.
  • Success in this position requires excellent technical, analytical, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
