    The purpose of this role is to lead a team that provides oversight and governance of the Special Accounts Banking units in Latin America ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

    Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

    • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
    • Deliver GRM governance and oversight mandate of the SAM business banking portfolios across the IB platform that ensures that risks are identified in a timely manner, once identified appropriate action is taken to maximize recovery and minimize risks.
    • Identify, attract, develop and retain top talent.
    • Encourages a team oriented environment and fosters positive and effective working relationships with the IB SAM units across the platform.
    • Ensures that best practices, efficiencies and institutional knowledge of the SAM function are identified and implemented.
    • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
    • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
    • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

    Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

    • Fluent in English and Spanish
    • 5+ years in managing work-out strategies and collections in stressed debt loans and assets in the commercial and corporate segments
    • Thorough knowledge of the Bank's lending policies, procedures, and practices.
    • Strong financial background. Ability to read, interpret and critically analyze cash flows and financial projections.
    • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior level executives and to manage relationships with different stakeholders (i.e. clients, regulators, banking, audit, legal, treasury, compliance, capital markets, etc ) in different international jurisdictions.
    • Strong financial background. Ability to read, interpret and critically analyze cash flows and financial projections.
    • Role requires someone who is confident and decisive and able to operate with minimal structure
