- preparing responses to correspondence by writing, editing and proofreading copy in plain language, while maintaining accuracy
- participating in the development, revision and implementation of unit correspondence processes, procedures, guidelines and tools
- determining writing style, tone and approach suitable to client requirements and audience
- recommending what briefing materials are required to provide information to Minister and senior managers on issues receiving media/public attention.
- conduct interviews, gather information, discuss and clarify client requirements
- provide consultative advice on written materials
- develop and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

- remain current with relevant program/policy issues and trends
