Senior Manager, Assurance Audit - Edmonton, AB, Canada - RPMGlobal

    Default job background
    Description

    Who we are
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone's friendly and helps each other out? That's like Grant Thornton. Except here we're all professionals and there isn't a mayor or a general store. What we're trying to say is that we're a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ over 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That's what's most important to us. We're building a thriving organization that's purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

    Value proposition:
This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Manager to join Grant Thornton's Audit practice. You will become a leader and mentor to a dynamic team influencing and empowering others to achieve their professional goals and contribute to a motivating team environment. You will work with a diverse group of privately held dynamic and not-for-profit organizations acting as a Business Advisor to clients. This will give you the opportunity to make a difference by helping clients solve business problems and achieve their business goals. You will be a part of the decision making process, and participate in the development of business strategies. You will become a valued subject matter expert for your clients and be supported by senior practitioners to help achieve your professional development goals. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial culture and having input to key strategic decisions.

As a Senior Manager in our Assurance group, you'll help your clients and colleagues thrive by:

    • Leading, executing and reviewing work for client engagements, including overseeing plans and budgets

    • Taking responsibility for and managing engagements, including managing the client relationships

    • Working collaboratively with the Partnership groups in other Grant Thornton offices across Canada

    • Planning and leading teams ensuring that client expectations are clearly communicated

    • Proactive in problem solving with the team or clients

    • Reporting to Partners with overall management of engagement pricing and budgeting

    • Being a leader in the firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan

    • Participating in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team members
    Be Grant Thornton
If you're a bit like us, you're driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. Here we walk in others shoes before taking action. Just imagine being part of a team that puts "we before me", where flexAbility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back. At Grant Thornton, you'll work with inspiring leaders who support your development, both personally and professionally. This is a place where your insatiable curiosity enables you to think, see and hear from a variety of perspectives, a place where every day is different and having the courage to grow is part of who you are. And when all this comes together, well that's when the magic happens
