    Summary

    The Retail Accountant will participate in the full cycle accounting functions for our wholesale distribution and digital platform business, as well as the accounting and reporting functions for the revenue and margin lines of our retail business with the objective of delivering a high level of accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.

    The Retail Accountant will also be a key liaison with various functions in the business including Operations, Merchandising, Warehouse Operations.

    Job Duties


    • Retail and wholesale inventory accounting, costing and analysis. Liaise with other departments to support inventory control measures & reporting.
    • Analyze, report, and provide overview of inventory adjustments (particularly shrink) results.
    • Support the Accounting and Operations team with the periodic inventory count related activities. This includes oversight of the activities of the inventory associate.
    • Retail and wholesale margin reporting by category and store.
    • Analyze discrepancies between COVA and NAV and coordinate with merchandising, operations, and IT to discuss and resolve discrepancies.
    • Full cycle accounting activities for wholesale distribution business: perform weekly accounting activities and end-to-end period end accounting and financial reporting activities.
    • Full cycle accounting activities for digital platform business: perform weekly accounting activities and end-to-end period end accounting and financial reporting activities.
    • Assist Accounts Payables with invoice coding review activities for assigned departments and business lines.
    • Assist in the preparation of working papers for the quarterly and annual financial audit.
    • Ensure internal controls compliance in assigned accounting and financial reporting activities.
    • Participate in special projects in the Finance area and provide ad hoc financial analysis, as required.
    • Assistance in IT project improvements surrounding retail revenue and inventory functions.
    • Such other duties and functions as the Company may assigned from time to time.
    • Must be available to work some holidays and weekends.
    Requirements


    • Bachelor's Degree at minimum.
    • Minimum of 1-3 years progressive finance/accounting - with at least 1 year of full cycle accounting experience
    • MS excel proficient - experience with pivots, VLOOKUP's and excel formulae.
    • Experience with Microsoft D365 ERP systems an asset.
