    Description
    Intermediate Accountant

    Our client is searching for an Intermediate Accountant to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for the day to day transactions and actively contributes to the efficient and effective workings of the accounting department by executing these tasks with a strong attention to detail. A successful candidate will handle the responsibility for processing, recording, updating and reconciling information in compliance with established company policies. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Finance.

    Your success will be defined by your ability to:
    • Complete monthly and annual financial reporting preparation and analysis including variance analysis and comparing actuals to forecast and budget
    • Reconcile all general ledger accounts
    • Handle bank reconciliations and journal entries
    • Participate in the external audit, preparing all files for review and answer auditors queries
    • GST & PST calculations, preparation and filing of returns
    • Manage capital assets: ensuring book values are properly recorded, run depreciation, confirm that approvals (for expenditures/dispositions) procedures are universally followed and safeguarding is in place
    • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
    • Collect information for annual insurance renewal
    • Create electronic payments
    • Payroll review and entries
    • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as needed
    Your strengths include:
    • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma majoring in Finance or Accounting
    • Currently pursuing a CPA designation, or plans to do so in the near future
    • 3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing.
    • Experience using Concur is an asset
    • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and diligence in follow-through
