    About this role

    Kidde is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and innovative Marketing Communications Specialist for its Residential Fire business in Canada. This position involves creating and executing marketing communication strategies that enhance the customer experience. You will collaborate with regional and global business teams to customize solutions based on customer requirements. Reporting to the North America Communications Senior Manager in the USA.

    This is a hybrid role in Vaughan ON.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support brand management by ensuring adherence to brand standards in product packaging and reviewing content for relevancy
    • Collaborate with product management, trade marketing, and sales teams to execute successful New Product Introductions and promote existing product range
    • Contribute to media plans and activations, offering perspective and assistance with organic social media strategies
    • Assist in local brand, communications, and sales activities, liaising with agencies and cross-functional teams for events such as trade shows
    • Represent the brand in media interviews, including television and radio appearances
    • Support industry relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as donations
    • Utilize copywriting skills to create, design, edit, and review communications ensuring consistency with brand guidelines
    • Ensure prompt response and resolution of any potential reputation issues
    • Manage effective communication and escalation processes between local and global teams

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5+ years of experience in communications or marketing
    • Fluency in English and Canadian French
    • Ability to travel 30% within Canada and occasionally the US

    • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications
    • Experience in public speaking and media interviews
    • Strategic thinking abilities to address complex challenges
    • Ability to work independently or within a team in a dynamic corporate environment and interact professionally at all management levels
    • Proficiency in social media platforms and best practices, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
    • Strong communication skills in English and Canadian French both written and verbal
    • Capable of copywriting for various formats and translating complex concepts into easily understandable language in both English and Canadian French
    • Organizational skills with attention to detail and strategic planning proficiency
    • Efficient time management with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
    • Experience in project management, consulting, and event coordination
    • Comfort working in a matrix, multi-national organization, leading project teams and managing budgets
    • Analytical skills for data evaluation and the ability to drive engagement and advocacy
    • Agility in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities
