    Reporting to the Supervisor of Compliance and Data in the City Utilities Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Develop and implement procedures, processes and polices for the administration of the Wastewater and Stormwater Quality Management Systems; provide training to staff on the same
    Ensure adherence of City Utilities activities to the Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act, Clean Water Act, Environmental Compliance Approvals, and other relevant legislation, integrated environmental policies/procedures/programs and strategic business planning for water, wastewater and stormwater
    Research and review new legislation, industry trends and best practices to determine applicability to the City Utilities activities and to ensure compliance
    Interpret data on City Utilities operational activities for the drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems for internal and external reporting requirements, such as Canadian Infrastructure Benchmarking Initiative, Quality Management Systems infrastructure reviews, asset management report cards and various other compliance requirements
    Assist operational teams with preparation, training and updating of Standard Operating Procedures for various operational activities
    Coordinate inspections and audits and liaise with Ministry of Environment, Conservations and Parks and accreditation body staff, senior management and council on results
    Assist with producing regulatory and non-regulatory reports
    Assist with the maintenance of City Utilities' operational GIS datasets and dashboards, maps and other visual representations of data, and formulate information into presentations and technical reports for various audiences
    Provide coverage to support various monitoring systems within City Utilities
    Provide coverage for all quality management systems, where necessary
    Post-secondary degree or diploma in environmental science/studies or a related field with a minimum three (3) years' experience in compliance and management systems in municipal utility operations such as drinking water, wastewater or stormwater; Strong GIS skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
    Experience developing/maintaining quality management systems and maintaining accreditation
    Working knowledge of the Ontario Water Resources Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Regional DGSSMS standards, and local water/wastewater/storm water by-laws
    Thorough knowledge of water distribution systems, sanitary collection system and stormwater management systems is considered an asset
    Water Quality Analyst Certification and/or Membership in the Ontario Association of Civil Engineering Technologists and Technicians, or ability to obtain, is considered an asset
    Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
