- You are a recent post-secondary graduate (within the last 3 years).
- You have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Business (or equivalent experience.)
- You have experience in managing projects, researching, business writing, storytelling and producing communications and content for a variety of audiences and communications channels.
- You are proficient in Microsoft products and CRM/Database use.
- Knowledge of, and experience using, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, and Canva are considered assets.
- You love to write compelling stories and content and can implement marketing and communications plans that meet program objectives.
- You have superior attention to detail.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- You have solid time management skills, are organized, and can juggle multiple projects and deadlines with ease.
- You are technologically savvy, especially in terms of digital marketing.
- You are inquisitive, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- Implementing marketing and communications plans for FDI programs and initiatives.
- Developing, writing, and producing FDI materials including sector profiles, briefing materials, success stories, social media content, trade show materials, and proposal preparation.
- Supporting the execution of an online and traditional content strategy that incorporates all available channels, tells stories, and positions Halifax and Halifax Partnership appropriately with foreign direct investors and FDI partners.
- Supporting lead generation and relationship building with FDI prospects.
- Supporting the design and delivery of FDI events with prospects and partners.
- Coordinating and managing quarterly tracking and reporting to funders and our Board of Directors.

Halifax Partnership has an opportunity for a recent post-secondary graduate to work with us as our Business Attraction Marketing & Communications Associate until the end of March 2025. You will learn from some of the best business attraction, marketing and communications and economic development professionals in Canada, and gain first-hand experience working to attract and support the growth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) entrepreneurs and businesses in Halifax.
