Job Summary:

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on the management of the warehouse personnel and the implementation of warehouse action plans. The tracking and recording of equipment hours, assurance that equipment maintenance schedules are followed and employee meetings are conducted.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Manage operation through proper forecasts and standardized operational processes which promote efficiencies and cost saving measures in all areas of the business;

Drive standardized processes through coaching, monitoring, development and ensure colleague compliance;

Promote, demote, discipline and terminate if necessary;

Evaluate and monitor the performance of the team and proactively deal with issues as they arise and support consistency through all shifts;

Review inbound/outbound volumes in department and develop caps which support the outbound activity.

Evaluate performance of Senior Supervisors or Supervisors and provide necessary feedback and coaching to achieve targets.

Encourage a safe and positive work culture that engages colleagues;

Foster productive union relations; Ensure adherence to Collective Agreement and manage grievance resolution process

Ensure customers receive outstanding customer service in terms of service level, and on time deliveries,

Work with the Assistant General Manager in the development and control of the annual operating budget

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

3 to 5 years in a warehouse operations supervisory experience preferred

Post-secondary education in Supply Chain management or equivalent experience

Knowledge of Collective Agreement, or previous experience in a unionized environment

Strong ability to motivate and develop colleagues

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize competing demands, and a heavy workload

Computer skills, including MS office programs, WMS and other related systems required
