    Who You'll Work With:

    This role has 2 overarching priorities. It is the primary Global People Team Leadership in country, partnering with the Country President, the Senior Leadership Teams for Canada and Leadership Teams in the Canadian provinces comprising the Slalom Canada business, and it is also responsible to direct and maintaining the community of local HR professionals who reside and work across Canada.

    This role would partner with regional leadership to drive the Global People Team (GPT) function, market relevant people strategies and practices, ensuring the strategy is executed in line with the values, principles, priorities and expectations of Slalom. The role requires an understanding of an evolving business, growth and the complexities this brings, business drivers and plans, and identifying and executing on high-impact people initiatives that support those business goals.

    What you'll do:

  • The specific responsibilities for this position would be conducted usually in partnership with Canada client leaders, Local Market People Leaders, local HR teams, and GPT Centers of Excellence eg. talent management, Compensation and Benefits, People Insights etc
  • GPT Strategy Clarity & Alignment – working with output from the GPT global function translating business strategies into people and organizational priorities which will add value to business goals.
  • In rolling out new programs and initiatives the role leads the discussion with Canada business leadership teams on the application and alignment of those priorities and also helps your own team, the local PBPs understand how to communicate and energy from Local Market before moving to execute.
  • The role identifies gaps in execution will step in when there is a need for intervention to drive the clarity and effectiveness of people strategy execution,
  • Leadership & Team Performance - through assessing and interpreting Canada leadership effectiveness and performance data this role will provide insights, guidance, and recommendations for action across CANADA markets. Where change is needed, the role may contribute to the development of interventions to improve leadership and team performance.
  • Through your team this role may facilitate leadership capability planning for an organization in market and execute on strategies and action plans to transform leaders and teams.
  • The ability to coach leaders on fostering actions and behaviors that drive the desired culture.
  • Strategic Talent Management - plays an important role both at EOY and through the Growing Senior Leaders rhythm. We require the development of strategic development plans aligned with organizational strategy, driving the effective identification of talent strengths and needs across the most senior leader levels in markets.
  • Proficiency in talent management strategy will allow this role to be a trusted advisor in the development and implementation of initiatives that will attract, retain and motivate employees This should involve lean into workforce planning, talent succession planning, performance measurement and feedback systems, career framework models and career pathing necessary to achieve the business strategy.
  • The role drives some of this through the broad Learning and Talent Management function in your own team and may partner with other teams to implement talent movement plans.
  • Responsibility to drive effective Inclusion, Diversity and Equity plan to ensure progress across Canada. This may include helping to identify high-performing and diverse talent, acknowledge/provide accelerated development opportunities and role model an environment of objectivity, open communication, and respect.
  • Organizational Diagnostics - partner and consult with CoEs, and drive your own team on organizational diagnostics, translate data into action, interpreting results to identify trends/themes and provide recommendations about organizational strategies, goals, and actions.
  • What you'll bring:

  • Significant knowledge and track record in HR leadership of a complex regional business (Ideally 15+ yrs of experience)
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people. Strong interpersonal communication and ability to generate clarity and energy in others.
  • Strong influencing skills and a proven track record and ability of influencing across a global matrix HR function.
  • Strategic thinking
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR initiatives and business strategy
  • Business acumen and ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy.
  • Innovative thinking, ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy.
  • Orientation and ability to collect and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and post graduate tertiary qualification and study preferred in HR management, or related field
  • Demonstrated track record in HR leadership of a complex regional business
  • Prior experience to the dynamics and demands of a professional services consulting environment required.
