    Description

    Job Overview

    Performs a variety of payroll, and pension related duties in accordance with internal and government procedures and principles. Works closely with Human Resources on various employees' relating activities for hiring/termination/Benefits etc. & Willis Towers Watson, RBC Dexia Investors on pension requirements. Provides administrative support to Director of Finance and to Finance Dept. Requires a high degree of accuracy and exposure to confidential information. Must maintain knowledge of current payroll legislation.

    Requires a high degree of independence, organization and pro-activeness to ensure office/admin functions are operating as desired.

    A Day In The Life

    Responsible for:

  • Ensuring all deadlines & deliverables are met
  • Maintain & submit hourly & salary payroll in accordance w/Hubbell Canada and statutory requirements
  • Maintain & submit hourly & salary payroll in accordance w/REF Automation and statutory requirements
  • Maintain & submit salary payroll payroll in accordance w/Multiwave Sensors and statutory requirements
  • Reconcile all payrolls & prepare required remittances and adjusting entries
  • Calculating hourly vacation pay & reconciles to accrual account
  • Provide support for hourly & salary DB/DC Pension//Flex/RRSP/Retirement Savings Plans
  • Provide administrative assistance to Director and Finance Dept.
  • Assist in month end report filing, maintains filing system and reconciliations for legal and accounting fees.
  • Reconciles Charitable contributions for Hubbell Canada
  • Backup to other accounting functions as required
  • Perform other ad hoc requests as assigned
  • What will help you thrive in this role?

  • University graduate or equivalent. (Business or Finance)
  • Minimum 3-5 years business related experience
  • Member of Payroll Institute preferred (PCP -Payroll Compliance Professional)
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll functions and legislation.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications and ADP payroll system
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong reconciliation and analysis capabilities
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with employees
