    Description

    SAGE Dining Services Canada is seeking a Talented HANDS ON Executive Chef for a private day school in Toronto. This Executive Chef will develop strong relationships with the community, design and produce menus that will create excitement. The chef will create amazing catering events, that will dazzle the community. We believe in creating exceptional dining experiences not just with special events but with every opportunity we strive to delight the senses, inspire minds and foster community.

    Our Executive Chef will plan and execute catering events, manage ordering and inventory, and develop our amazing kitchen team as well as aid in general location management.

    This is a salaried, year-round position.

    Pay Type:

    $65,000 - $70,000 Salary

  • What you'll do:

  • Plan cycle menus and lead daily production (hands on).
  • Enforce safety protocols and lead by example.
  • Deliver an outstanding example of customer service to your team and to the community we serve.
  • Manage ordering and inventory.
  • Deliver incredible catering events rivaling 5 star restaurants.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training and ongoing mentoring of the team.
  • Participate in general location management with the Food Service Director.
  • What you'll need:

  • Customer service skills
  • High end catering and high-volume banquet experience.
  • Substantial culinary knowledge: trends, techniques, and processes.
  • Menu planning and production experience.
  • Ability to lead, not manage others and to mentor the team.
  • Desire to mentor the team and lift others to continue a culture of extreme ownership.
  • Happy disposition, both for community and team interactions.
  • Awesome references and solid resume.
  • Minimum three years culinary experience.
  • Minimum three years managing others in the kitchen.
