    Reporting to the Manager of Network & Telecom, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing vendor relationships with IT service, hardware and software providers. The candidate will assist the procurement teams and IT management to ensure that technical requirements are adequately translated and represented in contracts and subscriptions. The candidate will be critical to business operations of the Lightspeed program in maintaining up to date subscriptions and licenses, and managing expirations and renewals.

    Candidates must live in the Ottawa/Gatineau area or be willing to relocate to Ottawa.

    Candidates must be willing to be onsite in office three (3) days per week.

    Main Responsibilities
    • Managing IT vendor relationships.
    • Process software licensing requests.
    • Track license distribution and availability.
    • Maintaining an active list of strategic vendors and contracts.
    • Work with the operational IT teams during incidents or outages to engage the vendor and ensure that escalations are correctly handled.
    • Track issues, outages and changes to vendor supplied systems, and ensure that support is properly engaged and is tracking solutions.
    • Coordination of QBRs (Quarterly Business Review) with strategic vendors to ensure engagement and response.
    • Consolidation of all IT software licensing and subscriptions to include costs, expiration and allocations.
    • Regular reviews of budgets and license costs to ensure cost optimization.
    • Work with the internal IT teams to provide feedback from vendors, and provide proactive advice on licensing alternatives, cost changes and scalability concerns.
    • Assist the procurement team in the negotiation of software and subscriptions to ensure that the appropriate security, cost and technical requirements are reflected.
    • Development of a proactive cadence to ensure that licenses are updated or renewed so as to avoid any outages and minimize impact to the Lightspeed teams.
    • Ensure all IT contracts and subscriptions meet compliance and security requirements for Lightspeed.
    • Assist with cost optimization activities with various telecom services and contracts.
    • Assist with regular quarterly forecasting of license requirements, hardware purchasing.
    • Assist with the review of IT services contracts for Lightspeed on a regular basis.
    • Assist with purchase requisitions, and related questions from the Procurement and Legal teams as necessary.
    Education & Experience Required
    • Proof of completion of a diploma or degree granting program in a technical field (e.g. computer technology, computer science, or similar).
    • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience with IT suppliers or vendors.
    • In-depth experience with the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
    Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Agreements
    • Experience with the roll out of software packages, tools and updates
    • Familiarity with software licensing models
    • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
    Working Conditions
    • Generally comfortable working conditions with lifting and onsite installations.
    • Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal.
    • The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
