- Reports to the Executive Director of the Integrated Forensic Program (IFP) and work collaboratively as a team member with other Directors of Patient Care.
- Ensures clinical program and inter-ministerial (MOHLTC and MCSCS) agreements, policies, procedures are upheld as they relate to the service level agreement at the Forensic Treatment Unit and relevant legislation.
- Oversees operations in line with the clinical context of the STU.
- Provides leadership and direction to the STU in partnership with the Clinical Director
- Ensures integration of clinical research and teaching with clinical practice.
- Ensures research and evaluation is completed to support the evolution of practice and programming. Fosters involvement of staff in research and its translation into care.
- Ensures that evaluation outcomes are disseminated and included in program design and delivery
- Provides leadership, direction, community partner building and mentorship for/within IFP.
- Ensures efficient, effective and empowered delivery of interdisciplinary services and access to services.
- Ensures the delivery of high quality clinical services and outcomes within the STU.
- Accountable for program performance and achieving quality indicators, including those established by Health Quality Ontario, Accreditation Canada and the Solicitor General.
- Demonstrate a commitment to programming inclusive of diversity and addressing the social determinants of illness and health
- Works closely to ensure Client and Family representatives have direct involvement in significant decisions pertaining to the growth and evolution of the Program.
- Ensure client and family centered models of care are encouraged and expanded.
- Guides and manages the overall provision of patient care services, policies, and programs for the STU and its readiness for future service planning.
- Accountable for the effective and efficient utilization of human resources with applicable collective agreements; policies and procedures; legal requirements; and the Strategy.
- Coaching and mentoring staff, oversee talent management processes
- Promoting and fostering a safe and healthy work environment.

- Planning, developing and administering operating and capital budgets. Includes liaison with funding sources.
- Ensuring that the financial, performance and other information used for decision-making is reliable and adequate. Collaboratively sets and attains relevant program, client and financial targets.
- Ensuring development of Program Goals & Objectives that are respectful of Corporate Goals.
- Facilitating evaluation of the Program.
- Ensuring integration of clinical research and teaching with clinical practice.
- Fosters inter-disciplinary research and integration of research into care. Encourages client and family involvement in research. Works collaboratively with the IMHR and Universities to identify, develop and implement research projects.
- Fosters co-creation of the implementation of the strategic plan and corresponding metrics.
- Participating as appropriate in corporate teams, working groups or committees.
- Representing the ROHCG and Program at community committees and partnerships.
- Together with the Clinical Director, ensuring strong relationships with The Institute of Mental Health Research and the University of Ottawa, including their researchers and learners.
- Responsibility for policy/practice and procedure development and documentation related to IFP.
- Works in a manner that is conducive with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to the Royal's Anti-Racism, Harassment, & Discrimination Free Workplace Policy.
- To be available to consult with Ministry of Health in connection with matters arising under the Service Renewal Agreement.

- Broad knowledge and experience in the delivery of efficient and effective delivery of services in adherence to the program's clinical services, human resources management, budgeting, performance measures
- Master's Degree or equivalent in a Health Care related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered
- Registration with Professional Association/College
- Minimum ten years experience in related health care field including five years in management.
- Experience with Provincial networks.
- Awareness and support of Clinical Informatics as a tool to develop knowledge and expertise, and integration of technology based solutions into research, and patient and family care
- Knowledge of inpatient, outpatient and community mental health system and models of service.
- Recovery orientation and experience with program design
- Experience working with clients and families in program design and evaluation
- Familiar with applying LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework to own and direct reports development
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill related to clinical practice issues
- Demonstrated effectiveness working within a cross-functional environment
- Demonstrated experience engaging in and supporting research and evaluation
- Demonstrated knowledge of care in academic health science centers
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal & written) with internal and external stakeholders at various level.

- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is preferred. Salary Range: $67.50 to $80.61 per hour
