    OmniaBio Inc. is a subsidiary of Toronto-based CCRM ), a leader in developing and commercializing regenerative medicine-based technologies and cell and gene therapies.     Based at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton, Ontario, OmniaBio will anchor a biomanufacturing centre of excellence and open in three phases between 2024 and 2026. OmniaBio has built a substantial team and continues to grow to prepare for this expansion. Benefitting from CCRM's existing expertise and business practices, OmniaBio currently has established process and analytical development teams and contract manufacturing capabilities. OmniaBio is built upon leadership in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), immunotherapy and lentiviral vectors (LVVs). The vision is to provide focused support for clients with late clinical-stage manufacturing and commercial supply needs, in addition to early-stage development and first in-human clinical trial material services.     Position Summary

    The Cleaning Lead Hand is responsible for leading the facility cleaning group in cleaning activities within the material storage and manufacturing area clean rooms. The position is located at OmniaBio's Hamilton, Ontario facility and is based on site to support 24/7 manufacturing activities. The cleaning group's primary focus will be maintaining the facility to clean room requirements, to ensure the documentation and facility are compliant for manufacture to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. Additionally, the position may assist the Manager to ensure the team is meeting expectations through training, coaching and monitoring performance. Training will be provided at the Canadian Advanced Therapies Training Institute's training facility, located at the University of Guelph.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversees and monitors cleaning activities within the GMP manufacturing facility, including clean rooms, laboratories, materials management and warehousing areas.
    • Oversees, trains and mentors the cleaning technicians.
    • Works with departments to schedule required tasks.
    • Assists with the development of the cleaning and disinfection strategy for grade B, C and D clean rooms.
    • Performs cleaning duties, as required.
    • Reviews cleaning, equipment and preventative maintenance programs to ensure that they reflect current practices and identify required changes.
    • Assigns and supervises duties to ensure they are properly and accurately completed.
    • Directs assigned contractor activities, when applicable.
    • Completes all scheduled tasks within the allowed time frame.
    • Ensures all group documentation is completed according to approved procedures with Good Documentation Practices.
    • Uses approved cleaning materials and tools.
    • Monitors inventory of cleaning materials and consumables, and reports when items need to be ordered.
    • Identifies deficiencies and reports deviations immediately.
    • Assists in the organization of special events, including general meetings or other events, as required.
    • Provides recommendations on system improvements.
    • Assists others within the Operations team when required.
    • Works in a safe manner, collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.
    • All other relevant duties, as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in an industrial/commercial cleaning or an operations capacity in a biopharma/pharmaceutical GMP environment.
    • 2+ years previous supervisory experience.
    • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
    • General knowledge of clean room operations.
    • General knowledge of building operations.
    • General knowledge of cleaning equipment operations.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

    • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
    • Keen attention to detail.
    • Able to follow instructions and seek support when required.
