    Description

    The teams in our Mississauga and Pickering offices focus on transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation design, and land development for both private and public sector clients.

    The successful student will have the opportunity to assist the Transportation Planning team on a variety of assignments in a dynamic and flexible role.

    The Transportation Planning team works on projects including municipal transportation master plans, city-wide parking studies, and transportation planning for major developments.

    Opportunities may also arise for the student to work with our transportation design team on road and multi-use trail plans.

    The student will provide design assistance in data collection and analysis, conceptual planning, and computer-aided design support.

    The entire team is committed to providing the successful student with opportunities to gain technical skills and industry knowledge, moving towards a target of full-time employment on graduation.

    Opportunity will exist to work directly with senior staff.

    The individual selected will have the potential to work with a variety of software programs including Synchro, AutoCAD, and AutoTURN.

    Data collection through virtual and field observations;
    Transportation modeling analysis;
    Traffic operation analysis;
    Civil design and plan production;
    Data entry and general office duties; Writing skills and computer excellence including Excel spreadsheets are required.

    Capabilities in traffic software for operational analysis e.g., Familiarity in design applications, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D would be an asset to assist with site plan reviews and comments.

    Applicants should be completing at least their second year of a post-secondary civil engineering or planning program, have excellent communication skills; and can work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of project leaders.

    We are looking for someone who is flexible, independent, and willing to take on anything, which may occasionally include non-engineering or planning tasks.

    Related work experience is a definite asset.

    We are seeking applicants who possess a valid Ontario driver's license with access to a vehicle to travel to the site when needed.
