Who We Are
SFU's Partnerships Hub (SPH) helps foster growth of key university partnerships and deliver on the strategic opportunities they represent. Working in close collaboration with the VP Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Research and International and External Relations portfolios, we help position SFU as responsive partner to industry, government and community organizations. Our goal is to create value with and for SFU's external and internal partners.
About the Role
Plans, coordinates, and implements SFU's Partnership Hub (SPH) events and sponsorships presences (on and off campus). Liaises with a variety of colleagues, vendors, and service providers to coordinate all event logistics including arranging for the production and distribution of invitations; securing photo and video services; coordinating with catering and facilities; arranging décor; and liaising with audio/visual providers, etc., for the SPH events. Attends events to coordinate all on site set-up and accommodate last minute details or changes. Coordinates virtual events using zoom meeting and zoom webinar. Creates and maintains SPH's database in Salesforce to support the event management initiatives of the department. Compiles invite and speaker lists for events. Processes event registrations and payments. Provides administrative support to the Program Manager.
You are able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment characterized by multiple objectives and concurrent deadlines. You are able to effectively manage your time, prioritize and complete multiple tasks without compromising quality or accuracy. Attention to detail is a strong asset, enabling you to ensure seamless coordination and execution of events. With a keen eye for detail, you will plan and execute every aspect of event logistics, from coordinating vendors and facilities to managing attendee registration and communication. You are adept at handling multiple tasks with precision and efficiency will contribute to the overall success of the events and initiatives.
Qualifications
High school graduation and two years of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent, including courses or formal training in event planning, as well as in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications and office procedures. Minimum 4 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
