    Description

    As a key member of the Talent & Culture team, the Payroll Administrator reports to the Senior Payroll Manager. His role is to provide a high-quality service to internal clients, applying in-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and established processes. The goal is to ensure that employees are compensated in a compliant, accurate and timely manner. Given the complexity of payroll in education, the payroll administrator must demonstrate a broad understanding of different employment scenarios, income types, tax requirements, as well as strong data analysis skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce bi-weekly pay for all non-unionized and unionized employees in Quebec in a timely and accurate manner by ensuring the quality of the information generated;
  • Perform payroll production activities for unionized and non-unionized employees based in Quebec in a timely manner, in accordance with tax regulations and company policies and procedures;
  • Assist in the reconciliation of payslips and the resolution of G/L discrepancies in collaboration with finance teams, if necessary;
  • Respond to internal and external client inquiries (Level 2);
  • Participate in year-end activities for Canada Payroll (T4; RL-1; Taxable benefits; WCB, etc.), including reconciliation of federal and provincial government payments;
  • Participate in the integration, testing and implementation of payroll system improvements, interfaces and tax updates;
  • Collaborate in the continuous improvement and standardization of payroll processes;
  • Participate in special projects as required;
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

    • REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce payroll software (asset);
  • Canadian Payroll Association (Payroll Compliance Certification) (asset);
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll rules;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.

    • This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
