    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Literature reviews, extracting publications.
  • Assist with execution of all aspects of the study (including adverse events, safety monitoring, medication, questionnaires and supervising investigational device consignment).
  • Assisting with the initiation and/or continuation of studies.
  • Coordination of all aspects of data collection and source documentation, as per ICH/GCP guidelines.
  • Recruiting and following up of study participants.
  • Assisting the investigators and clinical team with data collection.
  • Performing any wet lab related tasks as per project needs.
  • Providing timely study updates/reports.
  • Ensuring that all studies are in accordance with local, national and international research-related legislation.
  • Assist with preparing for site visits and audits.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining databases.
  • Assist with entering data, checking data for accuracy and completeness, including data re-entry; data cleaning.

    • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Show ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software - Word and Excel an asset.

    • Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Basic & Clinical research experience - hospital or university setting preferred.
  • Database management.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial methodologies.

    • Required Professional Designation/Certificate:

  • Completed a Undergraduate or higher.
  • Background/education in ophthalmology or optometry.
  • Certification or willing to complete Certification in good clinical practice (GCP), TCPS2 and privacy.
  • Certification as a clinical research associate (e.g., SOCRA, ACRP accreditation).
  • GI background as an asset.
