    On-Premise Finance Business Partner

    As a key member of the in-country Finance Team, the Finance Business Partner is tasked with supporting strategic business decision making and the delivery of Asahi Canada's strategic and financial objectives. This role supports the On-Premise commercial and marketing functions and is expected to build and sustain trusted relationships with both teams.

    The role is responsible for developing commercial and revenue management capabilities with the On-Premise sales function, ultimately aiming to support decision making to maximise value chains with our customers. The role will manage the budget and forecasting process for the On-Premise in Canada, and supports the creation and review of trade spend forecasts, business cases for new outlets and promotions as well as monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Ensures deliverables are on time, accurate and contain the right level of detail to allow for clear and simple decision making. The role is also responsible for supporting the marketing team in ensuring correct cost allocations and reviewing costs versus budgets, aiming to maximise the efficiency of spend with the team.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Commercial Finance

    • First point of contact for all finance related questions for the relevant commercial teams, appropriately managing stakeholders and supporting them with financial analysis and decision making.
    • Value chain development for key On-Premise account.
    • Tracking of Trade Spend and Marketing budgets with the team, ensuring the costs are managed within annual Budgets and that all costs are being correctly captured.
    • Supporting the creation of and challenging business cases for new and existing On Premise listings to ensure investment drives value for money for the business.
    • Maintain finance tools for use by the On-Premise team, including business case templates.
    • Owning marketing investment forecasts and reviewing variances on a regular basis, working with the marketing team to ensure cost allocations support insightful profitability analysis and spend is managed efficiently throughout the business.

    2. Performance Measurement and Reporting

    • Prepare Month End reports for total business results and for marketing and trade spend spend tracking.
    • Provide reliable data to report on performance vs incentive targets on a monthly basis.
    • Preparation of finance budget schedules for the On Premise and Marketing, including P&Ls and profit analysis.
    • Ad-hoc reporting to meet the needs of the business.

    3. Financial Controls

    • Review receivables balances and work with the commercial teams to recover overdue debts.
    • Management of PO process within the business, ensuring inputs are accurate and POs raised in a timely manner.

    Key Capabilities Required

    • Qualified Accountant, University Degree.
    • 2-3 years' relevant experience, including within Commercial Finance roles (management accounting, reporting and budgeting)
    • Previous FMCG experience would be an advantage.
    • Experience of working with a marketing function would be an advantage
    • Able to build trusted relationships quickly with the business
    • Comfortable within a fast moving, challenging and deadline driven corporate environment
    • Excellent MS-office knowledge especially MS Excel (large data sets, pivot tables, macros etc.) and PowerPoint.
    • Experience in working effectively with teams based across different geographies and time zones.
