    Director, EV Engagement & Operations

    The Director, EV Engagement & Operations will play a critical part in supporting clients to accelerate their decarbonization journey by effectively utilizing Element's top-notch products and services. You will be part of supporting clients with new technology solutions, supply chain innovations, and service offerings in a rapidly evolving mobility sector with a high-visibility role at an organization at the forefront of this change. With electrification at the front edge of Element's innovation strategy – you'll have a front seat in influencing our strategy and visibility with the highest levels of the organization.

    In this key role for Element, we need someone who can help clients navigate the most important transition they will undergo as they decarbonize their fleet operations. Managing a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to supporting and leading client pilots and implementation, ensuring Element is ready to support clients at scale across all of our operations, coordination of cross functional teams, effective use of data and analytics to accelerate our ability to support fleet decarbonization.

    As the Director, EV Engagement & Operations, you'll do all of this and more as you drive our design, development, and implementation of EV initiatives, ultimately strengthening Element's position in the EV and sustainability space.

    A Day in the Life

    Client Success

    • Partner with clients to understand current and future electrification needs and goals, while working to shape client's thinking around their own electrification strategy.
    • Partner with clients to understand key operational, reporting, analytical and strategic pain points and develop electrification solutions to help address.
    • Develop a scalable, tiered playbook to support clients from early engagements to scaled implementation of zero emission vehicles and related services
    • Manage pipeline and prioritization, engaging with key Element commercial stakeholders to define and manage engagement plans
    • Support the execution of any rollout / projection plans related to client adoption
    • Ensure that scalability of operations, availability of products and services are consistent to meet client needs / demands
    • Escalate challenges appropriately and proactively engage with clients and leadership to ensure transparency of performance and issue management/resolution

    Scalability

    • Develop, manage and continuously improve any processes related to electrification products & services
    • Workplan development and workforce planning to support hiring plans in advance of need
    • Develop training materials and guides to support scalability of processes and plan for incoming team members
    • Support development of Element's knowledge base in the electrification sector to drive fact-based decision making and build credibility on the topic
    • Contribute to internal Element communications around strategy and research
    • Present analysis and findings to senior leadership team and work closely with cross-functional working team
    • Develop regular reporting and read-out materials for senior leadership, EXE and Board of Directors on progress related to electrification progress of clients
    • Partner with our global colleagues (Custom Fleet, Element MX) and collaborate with our global partners (Sumitomo, Arval) to develop best practices and standardized operating procedures to support scale
    • Provide support and subject matter expertise for any technology or other related investments made to support electrification products
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to manage and maintain an appropriate RACI for all processes related to electrification

    Analytics & Reporting

    • Develop a plan to continuously update any advisory / consulting tools with up-to-date vehicle and infrastructure data
    • Develop new tools to support scalability and reporting of electrification related activities – supporting scale in all geographies
    • Collaborate with Digital and IT team to ensure appropriate sources and consistency of electrification related data

    Leadership

    • Identify, develop, retain and grow high performance talent to enable a high performance culture.
    • Drive and promote diversity and ESG mandates within the organization.
    • Ensure performance objectives of team members are aligned with the goals of the organization. Create an engaged and energized team and environment.

    Requirements

    • BA/BSc in Marketing, Business or Engineering Sciences or another similar field of advanced study; MBA preferred with at least 10+ years of work experience.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in project and/or program management, including successful program launch or integration, on-going achievement of program objectives and deliverables
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in people management; experience leading in a matrix organization and demonstrated ability in influence management and collaborating within multiple levels across an organization
    • In-depth knowledge of and experience in project management, proficiency in tools and software to organize tasks, track project schedules, milestones and critical path issues, develop metrics and customized reports
    • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification at a Black Belt level or higher and demonstrated track-record of continuous improvement
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) General comfort level with emerging technologies

    Desired/Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in large account service management with a focus in Financial Services, Fleet Management, or other similar industries.
    • Strong familiarity with project management tools, practices and techniques; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
    • BA/BSc in Business or Engineering Sciences or another similar field of advanced study; MBA preferred with at least 10+ years of work experience.
    • Seasoned people leader with at least 5 years experience in direct people leadership in a matrix organization and demonstrated ability in influence management and collaborating within
    • Strong process improvement skills and demonstrated ability to influence and optimize processes to drive, business synergies and productivity.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) General comfort level with emerging technologies

    Knowledge and Competencies

    • Proven business acumen, analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities with an emphasis in EV, battery technology, or electrical infrastructure highly desired
    • Strength in facilitation, change management and influence skills
    • Experience engaging/managing/consulting multiple key stakeholders with demonstrated hands-on delivery approach
    • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
    • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
