    Description

    Responsible to collaborate with store operations and loss prevention to ensure the execution of overall Health & Safety and accident prevention programs in all provinces, ensuring stores are safe and compliant and provide a comfortable shopping experience for customers and a hazard free environment for associates.

    Serves as subject matter expert in provincial occupational health & safety legislation and provides day-to-day support matter expert support to compliance monitoring, loss prevention, and operations field teams.

    Responsible for leading and coaching the H&S team at the site, which is comprised, of H&S Specialists and H&S Associate trainers.

    Effectively and proactively manage team performance and continuously enable your team to improve and grow. ​
    ~ Work with GM/AGM's and leadership team members support them in building and driving a culture of safety and compliance through H&S initiatives at site.
    Establishes and monitors regular communication of H&S information, which includes updated information, training, etc. Facilitates safety-training programs and ensures their effective implementation.​
    ~ Provide quality assurance on incident investigations and ensure proper root cause analysis and corrective measures are in place.

    Conducts, coaches, and trains Operations Team at site on H&S Risk Assessment methods such as Job Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, Ergonomic Assessments, Job Demand Analysis, Hazard Risk Assessment, etc.

    Identifies and helps execute risk mitigation strategies using cross-functional project teams.
    Analyzes health and safety trends and initiates improvements to prevent and reduce hazards and reoccurrences.
    Reports and reviews health and safety key performance indicators to Regional H&S Manager and site leadership.​
    ~ Develops and maintains external relationships and alliances with government bodies and industry associations strengthening the company's reputation within the compliance community and supports regulatory outreach to articulate corporation positions on environmental and health and safety matters to regulators and external agencies. Liaise with regulatory agencies for resolution of orders/recommendations issued.
