    Description

    As a seasoned Software Development manager, you are enthusiastic about crafting high-quality software solutions and tackling challenging problems alongside a team of talented engineers.

    You will be involved in all aspects of the operation, guiding the direction, structure, and execution of complex technology projects and products. Collaborating with Product/Program Managers and a sizable Operations team to enhance the products offered to our customers and staff.

    This role involves a significant amount of innovation as accurately anticipating the needs of sellers, vendors, and brands is crucial for optimizing the utilization of our products.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead your team in developing a new product emphasizing quality, resilience, and scalability on an Amazon-sized level.
    • Emphasize the importance of being an excellent people manager. Fostering, motivating, recognizing, and guiding a diverse team of Software Development Engineers is paramount. Your focus will be on recruiting and retaining exceptional talent while excelling in day-to-day people and performance management tasks.
    • Contribute to architecture and design conversations for full-stack software.
    • Guide your team in enhancing our service architecture with an emphasis on quality, resilience, and Amazon-sized scalability. Engage in in-depth troubleshooting exercises regularly and lead technical postmortem discussions to pinpoint the root causes of complex issues.
    • Establish a vision for your team and develop product roadmaps.
    • Assist your team in clarifying technical and product requirements and priorities. Deliver on product roadmap items and collaborate on cross-team projects.
    • Exceed customer expectations. Internalize the challenges faced by our customers and devise innovative solutions that leverage new technologies.
    We are considering candidates for positions in the following locations:

    Vancouver, BC, CAN

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering teams
    • At least 7 years of direct work experience within engineering teams
    • 3 or more years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems with a focus on design patterns, reliability, and scalability
    • 8 or more years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
    • Proficiency in engineering practices and patterns throughout the software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
    • History of collaborating with product or program management teams
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience in effectively communicating with users, various technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe software features, technical designs, and product strategies
    • Skilled in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness as product software engineers
