    Description
    Toronto - 20 Queen Office

    Contributes to key accounting processes in the financial reporting group, with a focus on the analysis, recording and documentation of complex accounting transactions, fair market value analysis and preparation of the financial statements and management reports (as required).

    Through the provision of regular feedback in the form of status meetings, objective setting sessions, performance appraisals, coaching and counseling, and formal presentations:
    provides regular evaluation of staff development needs with respect to technical requirements of their functions;
    manages the external auditors through the audit process to ensure their requests are dealt with effectively and efficiently.

    Coordinating and assisting in preparation and review of quarterly non-audited combined/consolidated financial statements for real estate operations of OTPPB and for the three main reporting entities ensuring that the financial statements are in accordance with IFRS/PGAAP and statutory requirements;
    Coordinating and assisting in preparation and review of annual audited combined/consolidated financial statements for real estate operations of OTPPB and for the three main ensuring that the financial statements are in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements;
    Preparation and review of annual unaudited legal entity financial statements required mainly for tax return purposes with statutory requirements;
    Liaise with accounting teams at the asset class level in order to obtain and analyze subsidiary financial information and to resolve accounting issues when required;
    Liaise with external auditors and co-ordinate and manage audit requests;
    Coordinating and assisting in the preparation of the annual pension financial statements including liaising with the pension auditors;
    Supporting the research and documentation of complex transactions (including acquisitions and dispositions) and provide analysis to support accounting treatment in accordance with corporate accounting policies and IFRS;
    Supporting the implementation of changes to company-wide financial accounting policies;
    Supporting the development and implementation of process and procedure improvement projects within Financial Reporting;
    Recommend and test changes to financial reports ensuring they remain current and meaningful;
    Assists in ensuring that key controls over financial reporting are operating effectively for Head Office Finance functions
    Strong analytical, organizational and administrative skills;
    Focused on process optimization and driving efficiency through the implementation of technology;
    Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce high quality reports;
    4-6 years accounting experience in Commercial Real Estate with relevant experience in the preparation of financial statements;
    ~ Fully literate with real estate accounting policies and procedures;
    ~ Exposure to accounting for foreign exchange & hedging;
    ~ Experience in external audit is required;
    ~ Fully computer literate, with extensive excel skills;
    ~ Knowledge of PGAAP an asset;
    ~ Knowledge of Workiva/Wdesk an asset;
    ~ Knowledge of Yardi Voyager an asset.
