    We are currently seeking an IT Security Analyst – Data Protection to join our IT team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.

    Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

    Close Date: Tuesday, April 16, 2024

    The Opportunity:

    The IT Security Analyst – Data Protection will have extensive technical experience in data security including data governance, management, privacy, and protection. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, the IT Security Analyst – Data Protection will be an experienced security professional and help support the day-to-day activities within the security team, with a focus on data security. The successful candidate will be capable of identifying, locating, isolating, and resolving complex problems related to security.

    In this role, the IT Security Analyst – Data Protection will assist in the development and maintenance of a data governance framework that leverages best practices and tools in governing data ownership, management, classification, sharing, privacy, and security.

    The successful candidate will further be responsible for identifying, assessing, and providing recommendations towards mitigating data-related security risks along with developing data-related policies and procedures. This role will maintain a comprehensive inventory of all on-premise and cloud data repositories as well action gaps and areas for improvement.

    The IT Security Analyst – Data Protection will help advance the Firm's data programs including classification, data loss prevention, and retention. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with department managers and key stakeholders to ensure data security standards are met.

    If you have experience in data security, governance and privacy including proven technical abilities with tools used for data classification, data retention, and DLP, we want to hear from you Along with a degree or diploma in Information Technology, or a related field, a CISSP or security related designation would be considered an asset.

    Please note: this is not a remote position and the successful candidate will be based out of the Firm's Halifax, NS office.
