    Description

    The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province.

    The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

    The revenue generated by the LDB helps fund essential public services like health care, education, and community programming.

    You'll get the opportunity to flex your skills in supporting retail, warehouse, and corporate office environments with a unionized employee base.

    The Disability Case Management Advisor is a professional who handles a high volume of complex situations with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.

    Working in a unionized environment, the Disability Case Management Advisor must interpret and apply Collective Agreement language.

    The Disability Case Management Advisor uses a combination of empathy, strong analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail, to make decisions and recommendations.


    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health and Rehabilitation, the Disability Case Management Advisor works closely with LDB stakeholders to administer all aspects of disability claims.

    The advisor is responsible for the co-ordination of a variety of services flowing from the Short-Term Illness and Injury Plan (STIIP), long term disability and WorkSafeBC programs that are available to LDB employees.


    Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel occasionally, and possibly overnight, within the Province of British Columbia.

    An eligibility list for permanent or temporary future opportunities may be established.


    Degree, diploma or certificate in disability management or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of recent, related progressive, experience* in disability management, or claims management.


    Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate and four (4) years of recent, related progressive experience* in disability management or claims management.

    *Managing complex cases applying disability management principles and best practices.
    Interpreting and applying legislation and/or policy.
    Providing subject matter expertise in the areas of disability management, return to work practices, and WorkSafeBC claims.
    Experience with attendance management programs.
    Experience in managing workplace accommodations.
