Operations Manager - Hamilton, ON, Canada - Tītoki Landcare Ltd
Description
Permanent, Full-time position
Tītoki Landcare is a specialist biodiversity management and ecological restoration organisation with a vision to contribute to the protection, maintenance, and restoration of indigenous ecosystems across the country. Over the last three years, we have grown to a team of more than 20 passionate, skilled, and knowledgeable ecologists and restoration practitioners. We are primarily based in Waikato and Bay of Plenty but regularly service Auckland and other regions across the country.
Our business provides both consulting services (e.g. vegetation and fauna surveys, reporting, advice, training) and operational services (e.g. vegetation and fauna management). We are looking to add a key member to our senior team to oversee the coordination of our operational projects within the Waikato region.
Our operational services are underpinned by two key principles – look after what we have and work with nature to allow it to prosper. Our primary operational services include strategic weed management, site preparation for planting, native planting, and pest animal control. We also assist clients with additional services such as track construction and maintenance, and mulch delivery and spreading. We currently provide operational services to around 30 sites covering a range of environments from established forests and kahikatea stands to regenerating gullies, open wetlands, and riparian habitats.
We have a team of skilled and knowledgeable operators who combine knowledge with action, and work collaboratively with iwi, councils, landowners, community groups, businesses and government agencies to protect, maintain, and enhance indigenous biodiversity within our project sites.
The primary role of our Operations Manager will be the link between our clients and our operations team, ensuring our team is providing and maintaining a quality service for our clients and the environment. As such, the role will largely be people focused and require excellent communication and management skills. Additionally, a sound understanding of ecological restoration principles and techniques will be needed in order to advise clients, estimate resource requirements, contribute to our team's expertise, and ensure biodiversity outcomes are maximised.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
