How Many Miracles

HOW MANY MIRACLES Siting out on the porch last night 1saw a firefly A tiny hight against the smokey green of the fat cedars. And t made me wonder How many other miracles Are out there? 1 chimbed up and down Three stairs today But my legs aren't supposed To be able to work And t made me wonder How many other miracles Can | pull off One day | was taking To my grandson about A candy called a blackball That we had when | was a kid You pop it n your mouth for a while Then you take it out And ts orange And the look of amazement On hs face Made me wonder Was that a miracle to him? Every day. if we pay attention, ‘We will sec these miracles They're out there The small bunny who lives 1 Under our deck And 1s no longer afraid of us The incredible rainbow of colour In the garden, Where yesterday There was only brown dirt The Red- Tailed Hawk That shows up On the phone pole across the street And stares at me ‘With his head cocked to one side Then caws and flies away It all makes me wonder How mary miracles Can we cram into a single day?
