    Job Description

    The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and McMaster Children's Hospital are seeking a full-time academic clinician educator physician to join the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. We are seeking a candidate with a breadth of expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. Skills in therapeutic endoscopy would be beneficial. The successful candidate will share equal clinical responsibilities in delivering the comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services provided by the Division and will participate in research and educational activities.

    McMaster University is internationally recognized for innovations in medical education and pioneering biomedical, epidemiological and health systems research. Located in Hamilton, on the edge of Lake Ontario and the picturesque Niagara escarpment, McMaster Children's Hospital is a tertiary referral centre serving a population of more than 2.3 million. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition currently consists of 6 full-time faculty members (including clinician educators and a clinician scientist). It is an academic and research-intensive group; the successful candidate would be encouraged to develop an investigative agenda as well as participate in educational activities within the undergraduate medical program and the Royal College accredited Pediatric and Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition postgraduate training programs.

    This position will incorporate an academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the applicant.     Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatric Gastroenterology and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. Ideally, applicants will have completed additional fellowship training and/or have graduate level training and have clinical and research expertise in the field.
