    Current vacancy is at the Cambria Library.

    This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

    The County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries is currently recruiting for the position of Library Branch Manager at the Cambria Library.

    Under general supervision, this position will manage all aspects of the Cambria Library including providing exceptional customer service to Library customers and directly supervising three full-time frontline Library Associate staff.

    interacting with community members, outside agencies, and volunteer groups; and planning, coordinating, and implementing library programs, policies, and procedures.

    Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
    The principles, purposes, and practices of professional library work;
    Current library trends, technology and systems;
    Standard reference materials and online resources;
    Laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to assigned unit;
    Library procedures and services;
    Civil Service Rules;
    Manage projects; establish and maintain effective relationships with library users, community partners, and fellow employees;
    Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive patron inquiries and complaints;
    communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
    Education and Experience A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    An example of qualifying education and experience includes:
    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree AND two years library experience.
    Licenses and Certificates A valid driver's license is required at the time of application. A valid CALIFORNIA driver license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
