    The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture's Livestock Branch is seeking a values driven and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Policy Analyst to implement legislation, regulations and policy related to the livestock sector in Saskatchewan.

    The Senior Policy Analyst will:

  • Lead the branch in livestock policy development, including conducting in-depth research and analysis, and providing policy advice on issues affecting Saskatchewan's livestock industry.
  • Work closely with a team of Provincial Livestock Specialists, veterinarians and livestock industry partners to prepare for and respond to emerging issues in Saskatchewan's livestock sector.
  • Collaborate across the branch, ministry, government, and private sector including conducting internal and external stakeholder consultations.
  • Provide leadership on policy, legislation, and regulation development.

    • This position provides a challenging and dynamic opportunity to work with a wide professional network to advance livestock industry policy in the province. The position reports to the Director - Livestock Development.

    Knowledge of the Western Canadian livestock industry and government decision-making processes are considered an asset.

    Competencies for this position would typically be obtained through the completion of a Master of Public Administration or Policy, or a Master of Science degree in Agriculture or Commerce (Master of Business Administration or Agriculture Economics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
