    THE ROLE

    The Investment Product Specialist (IPS) is a member of the Global Product team.The role serves as a product expert and business leader on specific MFS strategies with a primary focus on our key sub-advisory relationship, SLGI. The IPS collaborates with a broad group of functions across the organization, such as investment management, distribution, marketing, legal, compliance and operational groups, to position and support assigned capabilities with the objective of growing and retaining assets. The role is responsible for all aspects of investment product management, including conducting product presentations and related macro insights, performing competitive analysis, supporting product development efforts, supporting the creation and maintenance marketing collateral, writing portfolio positioning and attribution commentary, as well as other ad-hoc activities.


    WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as the product expert on assigned capabilities to support MFS Canada's sub-advisory business with SLGI with the objective of retaining and growing assets under management.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the capital market environment, MFS investment process, portfolio positioning and performance attribution.
  • Deliver in-depth product presentations and related macro-economic insights focused on MFS Canadian Sub-advisory relationship with SLGI as well as other clients and prospects. Traveling may be required up to % of the time.
  • Work closely with MFS Investment Solutions group to provide MFS' macroeconomic and equity and fixed income market insights to SLGI's Distribution Team and their clients and deliver these insights primarily through wholesaler-initiated advisor presentations and selected end investor presentations.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of assigned products. Conduct detailed competitive analysis to best position strategies in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with sub-advisory's distribution team to position MFS strategies successfully through appropriate investment strategy client messaging and leveraging best practices of MFS' US distribution team including external and internal sales and relationship management.
  • In conjunction with the distribution team, develop and execute a strategic plan for existing products as well as new product development ideas, including gathering insights into successful strategies with advisors in the US by leveraging MFS retail organization and potentially apply relevant findings to opportunities in Canada.
  • Work closely with the MFS Canadian sub-advisory team and MFS' Head of Canadian Distribution to understand overall business strategy and tactics with the client, specific compliance requirements related to the sub-advisory nature of the business.
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bilingual in English and French language essential
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CIM or Level 1 CFA preferred.
  • 8-+ years of product management experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for developing and nurturing client relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and selling/presenting skills.
  • Have a deep understanding and interest in capital markets. The ideal candidate would have experience and expertise in a breath of market sectors and investment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of active investment processes, and the ability to effectively communicate an investment process to external audiences.
  • The ability to function with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel to attend applicable industry conferences, sales presentations, and client meetings.
  • The position will require the appropriate registrations in accordance with MFS' policy. Canadian Advising Representation registration status/eligibility preferred.
