    Description

    Seeking a web communication advisors (Communications consultant) to provide its clients with strategic, operational and technical advice on the transformation of content to ensure its appropriate design, placement and style on the web, ensuring compliance with applicable web standards and guidelines and ensuring content is designed with the user in mind (user experience and user-centric design principles).

    Web Communications Advisors (Communications consultant) help transform and optimize current content to meet with Canada.

    The change management aspect of this effort is significant, given the high profile of the subject matter, and having the experience and skills needed to advise and train a variety of stakeholders (such as staff, clients and management) on such matters is of prime importance to project success.

    Provide timely and strategic advice for web content using metrics/analytics, strategic priorities, central agency direction, and user needs as inputs
    Guide clients in developing GC-wide content to ensure horizontal alignment, build connections that allow for integration and elimination of duplication, and improve cross-promotion and integration with other departments, branches, areas, and content

    Provide advice on online trends, Information Architecture design, website management principles, and Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) web standards including the Canada.

    Liaise between the project clients and the project's Web publishing and Web writing resources on technical aspects, internal processes, Web writing, analytics and templates
    Generate ideas and content planning, strategy and scheduling as needed
    Make recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and senior management related to web communications, taking into consideration Government of Canada policies, directives, standards and/or guidelines relevant to digital communications
    Five (5+) years of experience in Communication within a federal public service
    Three (3+) years' of experience within the last 12 years, providing accessibility and usability of a Government of Canada (GC) department, Commission or agency website
    Knowledge of the Government of Canada web standards using the Canada.
    This is a 1 year contract opportunity.
