    Project Manager, Director | Rail / Stations |General Contractor

    Leading infrastructure contractor

    Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor is seeking a Project Manager to join their Major Projects team across Canada with a focus on utilities and rail electrification.

    Reporting to the Vice President, the Project Manager, Utilities will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the Utilities Group for major rail projects.

    Participate as a key member of a pursuit team to secure major project awards.
    Responsible for the safe and profitable performance of signalization and rail electrification construction projects.
    Develop Project execution plans and schedule for the ongoing management of performance.
    Provide technical guidance in rail operations, contract management, standards and procedures and direction in project execution and construction activities
    Appropriately resolve all project related disputes with Clients, Partners, Subs, Public etc.

    Reports issues to the SVP Utilities and the related project Executive regarding financial performance, workload status, potential legal issues and potential opportunities.

    Puts in place a management team with clearly defined responsibilities covering all aspects of the operation.

    Ensures that all activity in the designated projects are consistent with corporate and divisional strategic plans, business plans, policies and procedures.

    Engineering degree or Technical Diploma/ or equivalent training and experience
    A minimum of 5 years of construction experience with rail related projects
    Knowledge and experience in all three elements of the Electrification and Plant (E&P) discipline including Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), 25kV Power Distribution and Low Voltage Electrical systems
    Demonstrate ability to evaluate employees and deployment of field resources on projects of various size and complexity as projects demand
    Demonstrated ability to establish effective project controls that track the productivity of projects to ensure adherence to estimates and bids
    Project Management Expertise on complex Joint Venture or Private Public Partnership style projects
    Planning and Organizing
    Managing Complex decisions
    Supervises managers, and oversee large project teams of construction professionals
    Physical Demands Analysis
    When on a construction site, may be subjected to extreme noise and heat. May be expected to climb ladders, wear fall protection, or enter confined space depending on the project. Please clearly highlight relevant work experience, project overviews and project scale ($) in your resume.
