    Key Objectives:

    We are seeking a Claim Supervisor, Property to join our Canadian Property team, to supervise a team of desk adjusters primarily handling personal lines and commercial lines claims across the country.

    This position will be responsible for the administrative management, staff development and technical claim results of property claim adjusters nationally. The individual will collaborate with and report to the AVP, Claim Manager and be responsible for delivering excellent financial and service results as well as a high-quality product. The position will also be responsible for developing staff, succession planning and executing strategies to achieve goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient/consistent delivery of service to our customers and business partners that meets or exceeds Chubb's standards and complies with all applicable statutes/regulations within the assigned jurisdiction(s).

    Major Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must be both service-oriented and results-driven and must also possess excellent administrative, leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to oversee and drive actions to recognize exposure and provide direction and oversight to direct reports to investigate and adjust both personal and commercial property claims
  • Candidate must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions
  • Experience in performance management, salary administration, training, staff development, and succession planning is a strong plus
  • Must be an articulate communicator who is interested in helping others achieve corporate and personal objectives
  • A strong knowledge of Chubb's systems, procedures, claims handling philosophy and claims handling requirements/protocols are necessary
  • Candidate must be able to manage business relationships with internal/external customers and investigate/resolve issues and/or complaints in a fair and equitable manner
  • Full knowledge of personal and commercial insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and insurance regulations
  • Effectively evaluate contract language and identify coverage issues
  • Recognize and pursue recovery.
  • Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices
  • A minimum of 5 years property claims handling experience is required.
  • Prior Supervisory and/or Management experience with direct oversight of direct reports handling property claims is an asset.
  • Experience managing both in office and remote staff is desirable.
  • Education level with a degree or equivalent work experience is required.
