    A non-profit organization is currently looking for the person who will occupy the position of Director of Communications (internal and external) for its downtown Montreal office.


    In addition to actively participating in a most human cause, you will have the chance to have a strategic role in promoting the mission and developing the organization's brand image.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the main responsibility of the position will be to contribute to the planning of internal and external communications aimed at promoting the mission and vision of the organization.

    The person will be responsible for ensuring that the reputation and brand image are respected.

    The incumbent will support the development, coordination and maintenance of a comprehensive service offering for all of the organization's communications activities.

    He or she will work in collaboration with internal and external partners to provide fair and adequate information.

    Main responsibilities

    • Propose and seize relevant visibility opportunities for the organization as well as participate in a content strategy and various communication campaigns;
    • Support and advise the organization's managers, various teams and the communications committee;
    • Contribute to the development of indicators aimed at measuring the achievement of objectives in terms of organizational communication, media relations and public affairs;
    • Participate in and/or create internal communications for the entire organization;
    • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures relating to communications services in their area of ​​responsibility;
    • Collaborate with the director to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the activities of the communications team and ensure high quality services are offered to internal and external partners and clients;
    • Contribute and collaborate in the implementation of communication campaigns for all services and programs of the organization, including the development and implementation of promotional tools and materials such as brochures, posters, flyers, public service announcements, infographics, PowerPoint presentations, training, videos, web platforms and social media strategies;
    • Create tools that will improve the way employees communicate internally;
    • Participate in different projects in collaboration with the philanthropy department;
    • Coach, mentor a Communication Coordinator and bring them to the expected results;
    • Support the design or implementation of organizational activities or projects and complete major projects targeted by the director;
    • Provide expertise in communication with other sectors and services and various bodies within the organization;
    • Provide consulting expertise for the planning and coordination of the production of documents or other official presentations about the organization;
    • Provide consulting expertise for the planning and coordination of official events (symposium, open houses, official inauguration);
    • Ensure the quality of documents produced by Management, including press releases, key messages, questions and answers, speeches, presentations, signed articles, etc.;
    • Prepare, position and supervise the management team for all public events;
    • Participate in the development and implementation of a strategy on the use of social media by monitoring the evolution of public opinion.
    Qualifications
    In order to feel effective in this role, you would have the following qualifications

    • Bilingualism required (French and English)
    • Hold a bachelor's degree in a field related to communications or marketing, master an asset;
    • At least seven (7) years of experience in a management position in the field of communications, media relations or marketing;
    • Excellent communication skills: listening, writing and oral presentations;
    • Attention to detail, sense of organization and ability to manage several files at once and prioritize;
    • Proven experience in community organizations an asset;
    • Experience with partners and political organizations;
    • Experience in crisis management involving, among others, organizational, territorial, political or ministerial entities, in coordination with the media;
    • Good command of communication media and social networks (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn)
    • Assumed leadership and ability to manage financial, material and IT resources;
    • Ability to effectively assume an advisory and functional role in a hierarchical organization;
    • Solid understanding of the Office Suite and IT tools
