We are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Technical Representative within ourDairy & Sports Nutrition Segment, which is focused on servicing customers in the dairy, dairy alternative, beverage, and sports nutrition space.
Reporting to the Business Segment Manager, the candidate will lead the technical support for the segment's customers, as well as support our commercial team to achieve accelerated business growth through next level customer experience and innovation.
The individual will be responsible for developing trustworthy relationships with our customer base in order to support the inclusion/addition of our innovative solutions in their finished product and support them along the way.
Our Dairy & Sports Nutrition team, part of our Food & Nutrition business, proudly represents & sells high-quality, functional and nutritional food ingredients, as well as dry blends developed and manufactured at our Oakville, Ontario facility.
We are well known in the market across various food industries, notably Dairy and Bakery, for our high-quality blends, and we are recognized as being a major player in the food ingredients space through distribution.
Quadra is one of North America's leading chemical and ingredients distributors. We have facilities across Canada and in select markets in the United States. Manufacturing experience across various Dairy application but not limited toAn excellent understanding of food production equipment and ingredient interaction
Proven analytical, R&D/technical experience and apply those skills to solving technical challenges
Is an experienced formulator and understand food microbiology & food processing principles
Passionate about food, food ingredients and the food industry
Is innovative in your thinking and ideas and have a creative spirit
Proactive, adaptable, resourceful, results-oriented and work well on multiple projects with tight deadlines
What would be your main responsibilities as a Technical Representative in our Dairy & Sports Nutrition segment?:
Technical support to our commercial team & customers
Attend and/or actively participate in in-person or Teams based Customer visits/calls with or without our commercial team.
Assist plant trials & in-process trouble shooting and problem solving on-site at customer
Showcase technical expertise through specific training with Segment team members, including R&D and Application Specialist(s), as requested/needed
Work with account managers to identify opportunities within their customer base
Be mindful of developing and growing our business and reputation, while supporting customers on a technical basis
Mentorship, Training and Collaboration
Be a leading source of information for our team when it relates to manufacturing, equipment, process and formulation, in order to optimize ingredient performance in production and throughout the shelf life of the finished product
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to bring technical expertise to discussions, projects and presentations
Creative thinking - how we can market our ingredients as solutions in market trends
Commercial Expertise:
developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements
Building and maintaining customer relationships with key decision makers/influencers to obtain repeat and new sales
Must possess a bachelor's degree in food science. A completed master's degree in food science would be a strong asset
10+ years of experience of hands-on dairy and dairy alternative formulation development and processing
Proven experience in the formulation and production of other beverages and sports nutrition products is an asset
Proven ability to learn different food applications and processes
Extensive problem-solving experience in food production environment
Willingness to support and work in collaboration with a commercial team; Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in French and English; Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint; to work effectively with the Office 365 suite) as well as solid skills with a CRM (experience with Salesforce would be an asset)
Holding a valid passport and driver's license
