    CGI Edmonton is seeking an experienced Java architect and are pleased to be able to offer a great opportunity to a motivated individual to join our development team This role directly provides leading information technology services to our clients in Edmonton.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:


    •Work on high-functioning agile teams as the Application architect and participate in requirement design and architectural deliverables, as well as solving difficult problems with the team.

    •Provide architectural guidance and leadership to teams and individuals, as appropriate.

    •Have hands-on experience and be ready to get actively involved to code if required.

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:


    •8+ years of Java software development experience

    •3+ years in the role of an Architect

    •Experience in successful delivery of projects involving Java technologies related to some of the skills mentioned below.

    Attributes:

    •Highly self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direction

    •Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Education:

    •University/College degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

    •Certifications in information technology, software development, and related products are considered an asset.

    Skills:

    •Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate

    •Experience with building & consuming REST APIs

    •Experience with JSF

    •Experience with web application development (html/css/javascript)

    •Experience with containers and Kubernetes or OpenShift

    •Experience with OAuth2/OIDC

    •Experience with GitHub Actions

    •Very good understanding of solution architecture concepts and methods

    •Demonstrated experience conducting and documenting assessments related to security and risk.

    Additional desired Skills:

    •Agile or Scrum framework experience

    •Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration
